About this event
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Angleton will host a presentation on October 28 featuring Joseph "Joey" Saavedra, PhD, a Postdoctoral Fellow with UTMB's Texas Age Tech initiative. Saavedra will discuss a pilot research study being developed to explore whether technology can help support long-term muscle-strengthening activity among rural older adults. Maintaining muscle strength is an important factor in healthy aging, yet relatively little is known about effective strategies for sustaining these activities in rural communities. The session will provide attendees with an overview of the proposed study and an opportunity to offer feedback that may help strengthen the research design and ensure it reflects community needs and perspectives. Registration is available at https://utmb.us/gmy or by calling OLLI Angleton at 979-848-9120.
